PERRAULT, DOMINIQUE
The designer of the National Library of France, the last grand ouvre of François Miterrand, is well known for his large-scale interventions ( the Berlin cycle track) and his town planning (the island of Sainte Anne in Nantes). This book offers a more intimate insight, a glimpse of the unknown side, an engagement with the smaller-scale work of this great French architect. A refurbishment and a hothouse, a stand for a trade fair and the entrance to a railway station, an apartment building and Perrault´s scheme for his own house afford a panoramic view which allows the architect to reflect on scale, spaces, materials and transparency in architecture.
